The Rainbow Warriors faced UC Santa Barbara on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center, as
a struggled game resulted in the Warriors falling 75-54. The Rainbow Warriors dropped to 13-8
on the season and 4-3 in the Big West.
The ‘Bows struggle to stop UCSB’s Amadou Sow with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Max
Meidegger put up another 20 points. UCSB also out rebounded the ‘Bows 35-26.
It was a close first half as both teams has close percentages on the floor, but the personal fouls
hurt the ‘Bowls as USCB made 11-of-15 at the line. ‘Bows trailed 30-26 going into the locker
room.
Second half was no different as the ‘Bows couldn’t find their rhythm as UCSB pulled away by
hitting 5-of-7 beyond the arch and 17-of-26 on the floor. USCB defensive helped go on 20-3 run,
but Drew Buggs ended that run driving a layup in the middle of the second half. However, it
wasn’t enough to help the ‘Bows get back.
Sophomore guard Samuta Avea had a strong game off of the bench as he made13 points along
with six rebounds. Junior forward Zigmars Raimo was the only other warrior to hit double-digits
with 10 points
Next, the ‘Bows are on the road to Southern California as they go up against Long Beach State,
Thursday Feb. 7. Tip off is 5:00 pm HT.
